Based on the popular and truly British classic, this beautiful car evokes the look and feel of the Austin Healy marque, retaining many features including an original looking curved screen. This modern-day take on a British motoring classic was commissioned by MG, with the original intention of bringing it back into production. Back in March 2004, MG Rover were offered the restyled body for the MG.SV rolling chassis (which was then being produced at the Modena factory in Northern Italy). Whilst great interest was expressed from the directors of MG sport & racing, negotiation continued and development began. Alas, the events that unfolded for Rover meant that the project was put on hold, however the retro style of a this truly British sports car has already received great respect and real interest in mainland Europe. The new design has successfully retained the Healy style and it incorporates a quick and easy to use soft top (with an optional electric retracting roof) with the bonus of having two extra rear seats, keeping the lines and shape faithful to the original.

There is a choice of 2 kits and both kits include the same body moulding items and cost the same. The following options are available:

Ford Granada/Scorpio based chassis:
Using donor front and rear suspension units, Ford Cologne V6 engine, type 9 transmission, prop/rear axle, steering column, handbrake, door locks, radiator etc.

BMW 5 Series (1988-98) based chassis:
Uses full rear subframe assembly including axle and prop, 520, 525, 530, 540i(V8) engines, transmission, wiper assembly, steering column, door locks, handbrake system, radiator etc.

Other essential ex-factory items not available from after-market sources include:
Windscreen/side frame kit including glass and rubbers/frames;
Hood Assembly, single layer finish, including frame and fitting clips;
Hood - deluxe double duck including frame & fitting clips; Hood - deluxe double duck power operated full system parts kit; Fuel tank/line and filler neck kit; Interior kit, full leather seats, door panels, dash material, centre console, quality carpet, soundproofing material, door rubber seals and kick plates.
